Our senior management team is comprised of professionals and experienced executives with extensive records of performance in a diverse range of industries. We are extremely client-oriented and each of our client companies is always represented and serviced directly by one of the highly experienced managing principals of our firm.

Robert K. Schachter, Founder/CEO

Mr. Schachter founded Reedland in 1997 and has over 30 years of capital markets and investment banking experience. He has arranged financing transactions with a value in excess of several billion dollars over his career, with a particular focus on financing life science companies. Mr. Schachter also acts as an advisor to Ricanto Ltd, a privately held, UK-based pharmaceutical asset optimization company, and the Terrapin Fund, a structured equity fund which makes direct investments in publicly traded companies.

Prior to founding Reedland, Mr. Schachter was a Managing Director at Shoreline Pacific Institutional Finance from 1995 to 1998, where he was responsible for structuring and negotiating more than $750M in private equity financings for publicly-listed emerging growth companies. In 1991, he became VP of Sales at Lehman Brothers, where he was responsible for servicing and managing institutional bond accounts. Mr. Schachter joined Wharton Capital as Senior VP in 1990, where he was responsible for securing secondary debt, raising equity capital and identifying prospective acquisition candidates. In 1986, he joined Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. as VP of Retail Sales. Mr. Schachter began his investment career in 1983 at Paine Webber, Inc., where he became one of the youngest satellite office managers in the firm’s history, assisted with private placement transactions for a number of the country’s pioneer biotechnology companies and traded securities for his clients in the secondary market.

Mr. Schachter is a Series 24 (General Securities Principal), Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and a Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser) registrant.

Away from the office, Rob enjoys spending time with his family, hiking with his Italian mastiff, music, cooking and classic cars.

David Schachter, President

Mr. Schachter heads Reedland’s corporate and real estate debt advisory group and has become a nationally recognized expert in advising client companies on corporate and commercial real estate debt transactions over the past 30 years. He has been a financial advisor to middle market companies and emerging growth companies in numerous industries and has extensive experience in structuring, arranging, and negotiating corporate and real estate debt. With equity capital often very dilutive, Mr. Schachter and his group can be a valuable tool in restructuring a company’s balance sheet to facilitate greater profitability.

Prior to joining Reedland, Mr. Schachter was a securities and financial institutions transactional attorney for over 12 years (initially with Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro and then as a partner at a boutique firm based in Los Angeles that specializes in representing financial institutions and real estate developers). In that capacity, he developed extensive experience in negotiating various types of complex equity and debt financings, loan workouts as well as structuring and negotiating large commercial real estate transactions. Mr. Schachter received an M.B.A. in corporate finance from the University of San Diego School of Business, where he graduated magna cum laude and a JD degree from USD School of Law where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the USD Law Review.

Dennis Mooradian, Managing Director

Dennis J. Mooradian joined Reedland in 2017, bringing with him over four decades of leadership experience in wealth management, banking and brokerage expertise, including various regulatory, operational, and management roles at some of the largest financial institutions in the US.

From 2011 until 2015 Mr. Mooradian held various national roles at Union Bank, including managing director of Wealth Markets, Chairman of UnionBanc Investment Services, and President/CEO of Highmark Capital Management. In these positions Mr. Mooradian was responsible for personal trust, asset management, brokerage and insurance, and private banking.

Previously, between 2003 and 2009, Mr. Mooradian was executive vice president of wealth and institutional management at Comerica Bank, where he led private banking, institutional and personal trust, 401(k) services and Comerica securities, and served as Chairman and President of Comerica Bank & Trust, N.A., World Asset Management, and CEO of Munder Capital Management.

Between 1996 and 2003, Mr. Mooradian was Chairman and CEO of Wells Fargo Investments’ Financial Consultant Advisory Group and Private Client Services, where he led 6,000 employees in 25 states. Mr. Mooradian began his investment career at Lehman Brothers in 1977, holding progressively senior positions through to his appointment as Chief Operating Officer of the firm’s Global Private Client services in 1995.

In addition to his brokerage and wealth management experience, Mr. Mooradian also provides expert witness services on an independent contractor basis in connection with complex securities litigation matters.

Mr. Mooradian received his MBA from Michigan State University, a law degree from Michigan State University, Detroit College of Law, and previously served on the boards of the NYSE Regional Firms Advisory Committee and the Securities Industry Association. He holds Series 4, 5, 7, 53 and 63 securities licenses.

Jason E. Cohen, Senior Vice President

Mr. Cohen joined Reedland in July of 1998 and is responsible for conducting research and legal due diligence, business development, transaction management, marketing and contracts administration.

Previously, from 1995 until 1998, Jason was employed by a boutique San Francisco Bay Area investment bank, as that firm’s contracts administrator. In this position, Jason facilitated the closing arrangements of over 50 private equity offerings, playing a key supporting role in the consummation of over $500 million of institutional investment in nationally-listed public companies, and working closely with the firm’s bankers, in-house legal counsel, client issuers, and investors.

From 1991 through 1995, Jason was employed as a paralegal for a New York law firm specializing in bankruptcy/creditor rights, litigation and commercial law. Jason earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Colgate University in 1991.

Adam Porcelan, Vice President

Mr. Porcelan joined Reedland in 2014 and specializes in originating and arranging public and private equity and debt financings for middle market and emerging growth companies. In this capacity, Adam liaises with executives, institutional investors, lenders and other members of the Reedland team to create and implement custom-tailored, integrated capital markets solutions for Reedland’s corporate advisory and investment banking clients.

A sports fanatic, Adam played varsity soccer at Ramapo College (NJ), while earning his undergraduate degree.
